Simon Denis is the Star of the Belgian Cuisine

21 november, 2014

Simon Denis, chef of restaurant 'Comptoir de l'eau vive' in the town of Erpent, near Namur, has won the second edition of the cooking competition 'The Star of the Belgian Cuisine’. This is an initiative of the Belgian chefs Frank Fol and Pierre Wynants, in cooperation with the organization Master Chefs (Meesterkoks) of Belgium.

In the finals, Denis competed against Cédric Tennstedt (Le Vieux Marronnier) who delivered an amazing achievement with his sole fillets with mussels and sauce of watercress with lemon. The winning team served roasted sole, braised chicory, quenched with Ommegang beer and cauliflower risotto and crab. You can taste this dish in the course of the next three months at the Comptoir de l’Eau Vive. The Star of the Belgian Cuisine is the only culinary competition in the world that allows the general public to taste its winning dish.
